I’m Smriti VanNess (pronounced: Smri-thee) and I am the founder and sole tutor at Top Tutors (TT).
Due to the emphasis on STEM education and the pressures on students and families to become proficient in mathematics, coding and other computer technologies, I am extending my services and want to be a resource to help students in these subjects.
I am a Mathematics and Information Technology tutor at Atlanta universities and colleges. I have also used my ten years experience of working in the IT industry to help all students in technology.
I am extremely enthusiastic, positive and like working with all students!

I teach Math from K-12 (Elementary, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, college algebra) and college level (pre-calculus, statistics, math for education and nursing majors, math for non-STEM fields, math for various entrance exams, math for physics and chemistry).
Private lessons to reinforce skills, learn new, and how to tie it all together. If your student does not like math, that means they probably do not understand it. I strongly encourage you to try Top Tutors, all the upcoming years of math can be made bearable.
Study guides, exam taking tips. I see too often, students don’t know how to budget their time and therefore leave much of the test undone, leading to low grades.
I can teach many topics related to computer science and programming.

I am passionate and empathetic toward students and realize that math can be a challenge. I remember my own struggles when I was very young, I was so afraid to ask for help. So, I want to be that teacher where the student feels they can go to.
Throughout my teaching experiences from being a tutor at Georgia State University while doing my Graduate degree to more recently helping elementary children and most recently my experiences at GGC, I have seen how some extra help and guidance can make a difference in the student’s math education. I am convinced that regular help can make a huge difference to the student’s future since they will have the knowledge and CONFIDENCE that THEY CAN do MATH.
My students consistently understand topics after I teach them and that look of understanding and nodding in comprehension is priceless!

Very personalized instruction, I will employ and design programs that work for EACH child. I use pictures, graphs, real-world situations, tools, worksheets to help teach. I try to make it relatable so the student can understand.
Whether it be reinforcing prior math topics, or teaching new, I am striving for the child to learn in their own way. I want the student to do the problem – I am NOT doing it for them.
I can create personalized teaching plans for technology subjects – such as programming.
Students will learn from me every time so they will have consistency and continuity of teaching style.
FUN! Stickers, coloring sheets at the end of each lesson. It is very important the student likes to come to TT!

I will work with families with busy schedules.
